The number of bookmobiles operating in the state continues to drop, but urban and suburban communities are finding new uses for these libraries on wheels.

This month we’re visiting the Dream Bus, a new bookmobile that the Sun Prairie Public Library is utilizing this year in order to expand library services. The bookmobile operates through the Dane County Library Service (DCLS), and their Director, Tracy Harold, was kind enough to stop by and provide some background information about DCLS.

We first met this sparkly new bookmobile in February when it didn’t have any items in it yet, and Wisconsin still had snow on the ground.

The Dream Bus stopped by for our Staff In Service Day in February.

Flash forward to June, and we recently had a party to celebrate its presence in Sun Prairie! We called it the Dream Bus Bash, and over 300 people came to celebrate! Here’s a photo of our Dream Bus Team below.
